He graduated from Cannes' Lycée Carnot then passed his baccalaureate at the Lycée Bristol and the Institute of Political Studies of Bordeaux. To finance his studies, he worked as a waiter, pontoon operator, and gas station attendant. He campaigned for Jacques Chirac in the presidential elections of 1988 and 1995.

Family Life
He comes from a family of Cannes fishermen going back to the 15th century. He was born in Limoges. His father Denis Lisnard was a professional soccer player and his mother was a ballet dancer. His great-grandfather Léon Lisnard built the Forville market located in the heart of the historic district of Cannes. His grandparents Raymond Lisnard and his wife ran the Cannes hotel The Azure Sun.
