About

Twentieth-century British Modernist poet and painter who is best remembered for his long poem "The Anathemata." His other works include "In Parenthesis" and "Cara Wallia Derelicta." He is known for the impression he made on literary modernism. 

Before Fame

He knew he wanted to be an artist from the age of six. His parents, recognizing his talent, enrolled him in Camberwell Art School.

Trivia

He served in World War I from 1915-1918. In writing poetry, he drew on his Welsh upbringing and heritage.

Family Life

He met his wife, Alice, in London. The couple later had three children.
