Wrestler who gained fame throughout his amateur and pro careers. He was an undefeated three-time Big Seven champ at the University of Oklahoma. He held various titles during his pro career, including the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship, and was inducted into the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2007.
Before Fame
He won the 1951 Oklahoma state high school wresting tournament at 165 pounds. He subsequently joined the Navy that same year.
Trivia
He is the namesake of the Danny Hodge Trophy meant to honor the US' top collegiate wrestler. He won the silver medal at the 1956 Olympic Games while wrestling in the middleweight division.

He passed away at age 88 on Christmas Eve 2020.
