Swiss historian, peace researcher, and author best known for his 2005 book, "NATO's Secret Armies," an adaptation of his 2001 dissertation. He is the Head of the Swiss Institute for Peace and Energy Research. He is also known for calling into question the conclusions of the 9/11 Commission and sharing his skepticism of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Before Fame

He was a senior researcher at the ETH Zurich Center for Security Studies. From 2006 to 2012, he was president of the Swiss branch of the Association for the Study of Peak Oil and Gas.
