About

Irish swimmer who has represented Ireland at Olympic, World and European level, and Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games. In the 2022 Commonwealth Games, he won the silver medal for Northern Ireland in the 1500-meter freestyle. In the FINA World Championships in Budapest 2022, he beat his own 800m freestyle Irish record. 

Before Fame

He and his twin brother began swimming when he was three months old at the local Water Babies sessions. At 6 years old he passed the trial and joined the Lurgan Swimming Club, where he competed in the Aquasprints league and Armagh Championships. He attended Loughborough University. 

Trivia

He has represented Ireland in Mare Nostrum 2018, Luxembourg 2018, European Junior Championships Kazan 2019 and World Junior Championships, Budapest 2019, and Geneva Open Meet 2020. His first senior meet was the European Short Course in Glasgow in 2019, where he set a new Irish record for the 1500m freestyle.

In addition to his twin brother Nathan, he has an older brother named Ben and a sister named Beth.
