Colombian serial killer who is notorious for being one of the most prolific killers in history. He mostly carried out his crimes in Colombia and Ecuador during the 1970s and 80s. He is believed to have raped and killed more than 72 victims during his spree.
Before Fame
His mother died when he was a very young child. He would later suffer abuse at the hands of his stepmother.
Trivia
In November 1984, he escaped Gorgona prison in Colombia on a makeshift raft. Authorities reported that he died at sea, but this was inaccurate as he later arrived in Ecuador and carried out many more killings.
Family Life
He had two children with a woman named Alcira before he fell in love with another woman named Esperanza. He and the latter would go on to commit heinous crimes together for a period.
