American journalist and author who is best known for her work as a correspondent for Entertainment Weekly. She is also known for having published several books including the Young Adult novel And We're Off as well as the memoir Choose Your Own Disaster. 

Before Fame

She attended Brown University originally studying Public Policy and Medicine before deciding to become a writer. After graduating and completing several internships with Conan O'Brien and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she gained attention through Twitter when she started the satirical accounts GuyInYourMFA and DystopianYA. 

Trivia

She is also known for having expanded and created her own book based off her GuyInYourMFA twitter account called The White Man's Guide to White Male Writers of the Western Canon which features illustrations by artist Jason Adam Katzenstein. 

Family Life

She was born and raised in Highland Park, Illinois.
