Before Fame
He began playing piano when he was 4 years old. He joined the band Gentle Mystics when he was 16 years old, and they released their debut album in 2011. He then began exploring making his solo music. He released his first single "The Moss" in 2014 which helped jumpstart his career as it was very well received.
Trivia
He gave a TEDx talk in 2013 titled "Interspecies Collaboration." In this presentation, he created a symphony of sounds combining bird noises and songs with his own singing and music. He plays more than 20 different kinds of instruments.
Family Life
He was born and raised in London, England. His father is parapsychologist Rupert Sheldrake and his mother is voice teacher Jill Purce. His brother is the biologist Merlin Sheldrake.
Associated With
He composed the soundtrack for Louie Schwartzberg's nature series "Moving Art" (2017). His musical style was partially influenced by Syd Barrett. He once toured with Johnny Flynn.
