She and her family rose to fame after they were brought to life in the acclaimed film The Blind Side documenting their adoption of Michael Oher. One of her most popular Instagram reels features a green dress for Christmas time. It has accumulated over 1 million views.

Her brother, Sean Tuohy Jr., is a basketball player. Her adopted brother is Michael Oher, NFL offensive lineman. She married Cannon Smith in 2016.
