Before Fame
Prior to his professional career, he played college baseball at Dallas Baptist University. He was originally drafted by the Baltimore Orioles as a senior at Edward S. Marcus High School but he instead chose to attend the University of Arkansas. He later transferred to DBU.

He made his official major league debut pitching against the Boston Red Sox on June 8, 2019, as a member of the Rays. A few months later, he made his official postseason debut as a rookie pitching against the Houston Astros during the 2019 ALDS.
