Canadian theater and television actor. He is known for his television acting work in Outlander as the character Boromir, as well as his roles in Shazam!, Open Range, and Chicago. He has played the role of Monsieur Thenardier in the 2014 Broadway revival of Les Misérables.

He was born in Barrie, Ontario, and raised in Ottawa and Ottawa Valley area.
Trivia
He was nominated for a 2016 Joseph Jefferson Award for his role in "The Heir Apparent" at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. He is five feet and six inches (5′ 6″) or 1.69 meters tall. He has also appeared in numerous theatre productions throughout Canada and on Broadway, including the original Broadway production of The 39 Steps.
Family Life
He married actress Elizabeth Saunders on September 19 1994. They have two daughters together, Bridget and Alberta.

He shared the stage with fellow actor Ramin Karimloo in the 2014 revival of Les Miserables.
