Before Fame
He grew up with a passion for music from an early age. He was influenced by listening to Beatles albums. He formed his first band Los Psedupillos in 1980. He and his bandmates would then form Los Prisioneros in 1983. They released their first album La voz de los '80 in 1984.
Trivia
He ran for a parliamentary seat in 2009 as part of the Izquierda Cristiana Party. He was so inspired by the band Kiss as a child that he and his friends would apply makeup and take to the streets to surprise and amuse people. He published his autobiography My Life as a Prisoner in 2009.
Family Life
He was born in Nunoa and grew up in San Miguel, Santiago, Chile. He married Claudia Carvajal in 1987. They had two sons together before they separated in 2007. He began dating Stambuk in 2007 and they had one daughter together before separating in 2015.
