Selected as one of TikTok's Tastemakers as well as one of their Black Trailblazers, this Las Vegas native and UNLV opera major became a star after the job search firm Indeed.com picked him to sing Andra Day's "Rise Up" for their 60-second Super Bowl LV commercial in 2021. He now has 50,000 followers on Instagram, 10,000 YouTube subscribers, and a whopping 800,000 followers on TikTok.

Before Fame

He'd developed quite a following before the Super Bowl ad during the pandemic, when he'd post TikTok videos of himself singing covers by Day, Beyonce, Corinne Bailey Rae, and others. But he didn't start singing with any dedication until freshman year of high school, especially after he'd attended the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts as a member of the choir.

Trivia

He'd originally posted a cover of "Rise Up" on TikTok in reaction to the murder of George Floyd and the protests that had sprung up around it. In 2016, he sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" at the Nevada democratic convention.

Shelton's father Allen Shelton is a Las Vegas realtor.
