Before Fame

He was rendered blind due to Leber congenital amaurosis, but regained his sight following an experimental surgery. 

Trivia

He has performed at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York multiple times. On American Idol's 20th anniversary season, in 2022, he made it to the top 24 contestants, earning praise from the judges for his humility and strong voice.

Family Life

He grew up in the Patchogue village of Long Island, New York. His mother is a nurse.
