Before Fame
Sumpter got his first taste of the limelight via the footlights of Broadway, at age 11, when he booked his first theater job as Tommy in the musical Matilda. After landing a role in the hit musical Runaways in 2015, he focused more on TV and film.
Trivia
He trained at Manhattan's Professional Performing Arts School for seven years, and had small parts in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and When They See Us. He has also modeled for Coca-Cola and Nickelodeon.
