He previously performed in a five-piece boy band called Out of the Blue (formerly 5th Base). That group also competed on The X Factor. He grew up around music, as his father was a musician, and as a child he would travel to Scotland and attend folk festivals.
Trivia
He originally came back as a solo artist on The X Factor before Simon Cowell selected him to join Stereo Kicks. The return of Simon to the show was one of the driving factors for Chris trying out.
