About
Singaporean chef famous for her award-winning pastries and the large, extravagant displays she creates for events out of chocolate and baked goods. She began working at the The Langham Hotel in London as their executive pastry chef. She has won several competitions, including the 1999 Iegho Culinary Competition and the 2000 Olympic IKA.
Before Fame
She began taking cooking lessons at a cookery school at the age of 16. She studied fine arts, graphic design, window display, and sculpture, which all contribute to her edible art skills
Trivia
For one of her more difficult projects, she created a 2.5-meter-long train with animals on it, consisting of 8,888 sweets. This display took nine months to plan and create. For the chocolate deserts she makes, she claims to prefer using European and Asian flavors. She designed her own chocolate with Cacao Barry's Or Noir laboratory, in Paris.
Family Life
She began cooking at the age of eight when her father got sick. Her mother had to work, so she began cooking for her family.
