Scottish director, writer, and producer known for her feature film debut, Aftersun, a coming-of-age drama about a father-daughter relationship. Aftersun premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival to critical acclaim and, that same year, she won numerous awards for her directing. She had directed 3 short films before moving on to her first feature.
Before Fame
She pursued a dual Master of Fine Arts and Master of Business Administration at the Tisch School of the Arts and the Stern School.
Trivia
She wrote and directed three short films while at New York University. She was a fellow at the 2020 Sundance Institute Screenwriters and Directors Labs.
Family Life
She was inspired to create her film, Aftersun, after looking through a family album and realizing how young her father was when she was born.
