Performer for the celtic rock group The Proclaimers that became most famous thanks to their song "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)." He and his twin brother performed together with a backing band.

Before Fame

He attended Bell Baxter High School in Auchtermuchty. He was part of several punk rock bands before The Proclaimers were formed in 1983.

Trivia

A fan of theirs sent a demo to the English band the Housemartins. After this, they were invited on the Housemartins tour and in turn earned enough exposure to be featured on the Channel Four show The Tube.

Family Life

He and twin brother Craig Reid were born in Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland. The band originated in Auchtermuchty, Fife, Scotland. 

Associated With

A 2007 comic relief version of their song "(I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles" featured a music video starring David Beckham, Elton John and a long list of other celebrities.
