Football player who rose to fame after appearing on HBO's football reality show Hard Knocks. He competed for a chance to play for the Houston Texans, but ultimately wasn't selected. 

Before Fame

He was not of optimal size to play football, but he exhibited fierce determination in trying to play in high school and college, and eventually took out $40,000 in student loans to get the chance to play for Charleston Southern University.

Trivia

After not even being scouted by his college team, he eventually moved up from being a walk-on to finally becoming an FCS All-American.

After he wasn't selected to remain with the New York Giants after finally making it to the NFL, fellow player Antrel Rolle took to Instagram to plea for James' reinstatement.
