Before Fame
He moved to the U.S. at age 18 to study at the Berkeley College of Music in Boston. During this period, he returned to Brazil a few times, bringing back glasses in his luggage to resell. To supplement his income, he sold the glasses he bought in California to friends. When he returned to Brazil after college, he began to sell the glasses wholesale for distribution in multi-brand stores. In 1998, he launched the first Chilli Beans store. Today the store has more than 900 storefronts in Brazil and abroad.

He was the lead singer and guitarist for the rock band Las Ticas Tienen Fuego, which in the year 1996, was nominated for the MTV Brazil Video Music Award. In June 2021, he began working hosting a radio program, Se Parar o Sangue Esfria, about entrepreneurship. Since 2017, he has been a judge on Shark Tank Brazil.
