Television producer most renowned for co-creating ABC's The View. Along with his co-creator Barbara Walters, he was also the co-producer of numerous additional television shows including The 10 Most Fascinating People annual special. Additionally, he wrote the script for the 1996 sci-fi film Unforgettable, which stars Ray Liotta and Linda Fiorentino. He passed away in July 2023 at the age of 68 due to coronary-related issues.
Before Fame
He earned a bachelor's degree in communications and film from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977. He began his career in the entertainment industry after he earned a job buffing the floors at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City. This eventually led him to receive the opportunity to shoot film for local news and television programs.
Trivia
Among his many accolades, he earned six local Emmy Awards, four national Emmy Awards, and a Daytime Emmy Award. He was also the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 39th Daytime Emmys in June of 2012.

He was married to his wife Barbara from 1979 until his passing in July of 2023.
