Before Fame

He made his professional soccer debut for Sporting Cristal in the year 2013 when he was 16 in a derby match against Alianza Lima for the Torneo Descentralizado. He scored his first professional goal in the year 2014 against Los Caimanes. He helped lead Sporting Cristal to victory as league champions.

He was eligible to play for both Peru and Brazil because of his heritage. He chose to represent Peru. His full birth name is Luiz Humberto da Silva, while Beto is a nickname. 

Family Life

He was born in Lima, Peru to a Brazilian father and a Peruvian mother. His family moved to Porto Alegre, Brazil when he was six years old. He moved back to Peru when he was a teenager. He married model and reality star Ivana Yturbe in the year 2021. The couple has a daughter named Almudena. He also has a son named Thiago from a previous relationship.
