Actor, entertainer, artist, and performer who is best known as Mr. Alfred the trailer park owner in Because of Winn-Dixie. He was also in films such as The Toy, Flakes, and Louisiane. He played judges in multiple films including The Ponder Heart, Orleans, The Outside Woman, and Three on a Match. 

Before Fame

He was in the Army during World War II. He was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation, Bronze Star and Marksman Medal. 

Trivia

He was a speech and hearing therapist for 25 years before retiring to pursue acting. One of his earliest screen roles was playing a policeman in the 1978 television movie Murder at the Mardi Gras. He died while living in Louisiana in the year 2011. The reason for his death remains undisclosed.

He and his wife were married for almost 60 years. He had a son named Mac and a grandson named Drew.
