Starting his athletic career as an elite-level junior basketball player, he was heavily pursued throughout his youth by several United States Division One universities; however, he was eventually recruited by an AFL scout when he was 17 years old. He earned his education from the South Brisbane-based St. Laurence's College.

He joined the Brisbane Lions after becoming their 3rd pick and 69th overall in the 2014 rookie draft. He amassed 19 disposals and 30 hit outs in his senior career debut, which was a 2016 match against Port Adelaide Football Club.

He is the son of former American-Australian basketball player Andre Moore. He has five siblings. They are Gemma, Sebastian, Isaac, Abib, and Violet. He married his long-time girlfriend Sophie in 2021 and the following year, they welcomed a child named Montgomery.
