Aram Serhad

About

Kurdish musical artist who initially rose to fame with his debut professional album "Te Nedi / Çavshin" and his subsequent release, "Rê." He is known for being a champion for Kurdish music and culture, having been previously arrested for "making propaganda for a terrorist organization" for simply performing his music in 2013.

Before Fame

After his musical talent was discovered by his teacher in primary school, he went on to study at Manisa Sarıgül High School and Eskişehir Anadolu University. Prior to commencing his solo career, he performed in an amateur band and sang Anatolian Rock.

Trivia

Before his musical career, he performed for several years as a dancer in Manisaspor. He has also previously worked as a bucket operator.

Family Life

He was born Gokhan Sevinç. The majority of his family was not initially supportive of his decision to pursue a career as a musician; however, his father became an ally after he briefly decided to quit performing and moved to Istanbul.
