Apti Aukhadov

About

Russian weightlifter who was awarded the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He took gold at the 2013 World Weightlifting Championships with a combined total of 387kg. In June 2016, samples that had been taken from him in 2012 were retested and were positive for prohibited substances. In October of 2016, he was stripped of his Olympic medal. In December of 2018, he announced his comeback. 

Before Fame

He was the world junior champion in 2010. He won silver at the 2011 European Weightlifting Championships.

His aukhadov Instagram boasts a following of 130,000. There are pictures of him taken casually in his street clothes, as well as of him lifting in the gym and at competitions. There are also some videos of him lifting. Other features include occasional pictures and videos of lions that he directly handles. 

Family Life

He was born in Urus-Martan, Chechenskaya Respublika (RUS), and is of Chechen descent. He posted a picture of his mother holding a bouquet of flowers to his Instagram in November of 2017.

He posted a picture of Muhammad Ali to his Instagram in May of 2018. His father is Gunner Auken and his mother is Kirsten Auken. He has two brothers, Svend and Jens.
