English soccer referee who has officiated matches internationally as well as in prominent European leagues like the Premier League. Some of his most high-profile matches include the 2013 FA Cup Final and the 2015 Football League Cup Final. In May of 2022, it was announced that he and five other referees would oversee matches at that November and December's World Cup.
Before Fame
He got his start refereeing in the Northern Premier League in 2002. He progressed to Conference North two years later and joined the Football League in 2006.
Trivia
In December 2014, he apologized to Chelsea for booking Cesc Fabregas for diving despite the fact that he was fouled by Southampton player Matt Targett. He was chosen as the main referee at the 2020 UEFA Super Cup.
