Actress signed to Universal Studios during the Golden Age of Hollywood in the 1930s. She was known for her brunette locks and striking blue eyes, and for notably portraying the shepherdess rescued by Boris Karloff's monster in the 1935 classic film, The Bride of Frankenstein. Despite having earned a contract with Universal Studios, the majority of her acting assignments were uncredited or deleted roles and bit parts.

Before Fame

She took lessons in diction and dramatic acting prior to earning the audition, which would later lead to her contract with Universal Studios. By that time, she was also a talented ballroom dancer as well. She made her first film appearance playing an uncredited role in the 1934 film Romance in the Rain.

Trivia

She was discovered by the head of Mascot Pictures while he was scouting for a leading lady to appear opposite the up-and-coming star Gene Autry. He grew intent on casting her in the role; however, she had recently married, and her new husband insisted that she quit working.
