About
Canadian poet, author, professor, and 2001 recipient of the T.S. Eliot Prize. She is best known for a 1998 verse novel entitled Autobiography of Red; she also became a prominent translator of Ancient Greek literary works.
Before Fame
She became fascinated with Greek and Roman literature during her high school years and continued to study Classics at St. Michael's College of the University of Toronto.
Trivia
Her dramatic piece, Jude: The Goat at Midnight, was produced in 2011 as part of Project Sixty Six at London's Bush Theatre.
Family Life
She married Robert Currie, and the two co-taught a a course called Egocircus at New York University.
