About
Queen of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 1702 to 1707 when England and Scotland united to form the single sovereign state Great Britain. She was then queen of Great Britain from 1707 until her death in 1714. Her reign was during the end of the Stuart dynasty and the beginning of the Georgian period.
Before Fame
She grew up in France and lived there with her grandmother, who took care of her eye condition.
Trivia
In addition to a tight-knit relationship with her sister Mary, her close friends included Lady Sarah Churchill and Lady Abigail Masham.
Family Life
Her father was James II of England and her mother was Anne Hyde. She married Prince George of Denmark in 1683. Though she had 17 pregnancies and five live births, none of her children survived into adulthood.
