Ankita Nandy

About

Indian playback and pop singer, and ½ of the singing duo sensation known as the Nandy Sisters, along with her older sister, Antara Nandy. She has performed at the Malda Carnival and at events throughout all of India, including Pune, Mumbai, and at the residence of entrepreneur Mukesh Ambani. She has also collaborated with popular brands like Maybelline, Manara Care, Amazon, and Pro Craft India. 

Before Fame

While her older sister was naturally attracted to music from a young age, it took her many years to discover her own talent. It wasn't until she corrected her older sister at a dubbing session that the pair realized she, too, had a natural-born talent for music. The duo began creating music videos together on YouTube as part of their "Balcony Concert" series and rose to fame with their rendition of the song "Humma, Humma." She began touring the world shortly thereafter, with her older sister as her singing partner and "teacher."

Trivia

She was named Spotlight Singing Star of the Month in February of 2022 by MTV India. She and her sister have performed in more than 2 dozen different languages, including native Indian languages such as Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, Gujarati, and Marathi, as well as foreign languages including Korean, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and English.

Family Life

She grew up in a family of scholars and engineers; however, many of her family members were naturally talented at music as well. Her father played the violin, and her father was able to play the violin and the guitar without having had any formal training.
