Ukrainian activist, politician and singer-songwriter known for her blend of folk rock and pop music and participating in Eurovision and other singing contests. She announced in the year 2018 that she would be ending her music career in order to enter politics.
Before Fame
After beginning her music career in 2005, she first experienced mainstream success in 2007. She had been cast in series seven of the Russian music competition Fabrika Zvyozd, an international version of the Spanish program Operación Triunfo. She ultimately won the competition, which helped propel her musical career forward.
Trivia
She plays the flute, guitar, and piano, and says the piano is her favorite instrument. Many of her songs were performed in the Russian language but she began incorporating the Ukrainian language into her music, until completely swearing off performing in Russian in the year 2015.
Family Life
She was born in Kyiv to parents Konstantin Rybalov and Oksana Prikhodko. Her father is Russian and her mother is Ukrainian. Her parents divorced when she was young, so she was raised by her mother after her father returned to Russia after their separation. She has an elder brother named Nazar, and she has collaborated with him in music. She has two children.
