Eminently gifted Israeli competitive swimmer whose accomplishments in backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and medley include 4 World and European Championship gold medals. She has broken nearly every Israeli national record for female swimmers and mixed relays and has competed in several Olympic finals. She has been widely recognized as Israel's best swimmer in history.
Before Fame
She began training in swimming at the Wingate Institute of Netanya, Israel while simultaneously studying biology at the Hof HaSharon High School. She broke her 1st national record when she was just 13 years old, in the 100-meter breaststroke event at the 2016 Maccabiah Games. The following year, she broke several additional records at the same event and earned gold medals in both the 100-meter junior freestyle and the 4 x 100-meter freestyle relay.
Trivia
Her performance at the 2021 FINA Swimming World Cup was ranked #2 on the list of FINA's Top Ten Moments. The following year, she was named on the esteemed 30 Under 30 list by Forbes Israel.
Family Life
She is the daughter of Larisa and Vladimir Gorbenko. She has 1 older sister and 1 younger sister.
Associated With
At the 2018 Youth Olympic Games held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, when she was just 15 years old, she broke the Israeli record which had previously been accomplished by Amit Ivry at the 2012 London Olympics.
