About
Professional power forward and small forward basketball player for the Patriots Basketball Club who famously represented India in the FIBA Asia Championship on numerous occasions. He has previously played for teams such as the NBDL's Tokyo Excellence, the UBA Pro Basketball League's Delhi Capitals, and the Oklahoma City Blue. He is one of the first Indian men to be signed to an abroad pro basketball contract.
Before Fame
While attending high school, he sustained an injury which kept him from playing cricket for several months, and his father advised him to take up basketball. Within one year, he was promoted to the state and national U16 team and began training at the Ludhiana Basketball Academy, which has trained some of India's most elite players. He helped Punjab win the 2012 Senior National Basketball Championship and was chosen to play at the India Basketball All-Star Showcase later that same year.
Trivia
He was the first ever Indian national to compete in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Finals. Among his many additional achievements, he ranked most minutes, points, rebounds, and blocks for the Indian national team at the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship and was the championship's second best scorer overall.
Family Life
He is the son of Nirmal Kaur and Mohinder Singh. His mother is a former athlete, and his father is a former member of the India national basketball team as well as sub-inspector of the Chandigarh Police. He married his wife, Manpreet Kaur Gill, in February 2022. He has two sisters.
Associated With
He played with guard/forward Daniel Hamilton on the 2017-18 roster of the Oklahoma City Blue team of the NBA G League. He also played with Frank Mason III during the Wisconsin Herd's 2019-20 season.
