Laotian-Bulgarian singer, model, multi-instrumentalist, and actress who has been referred to as the "Lao Princess of Pop" and "the Jewel of Laos." She has starred on television series like Rayrai Sao Luk Pa and Keb Hom Aom Rak, as well as the variety show Talok Hok Chak. She has performed at events including the ASEAN-Japan Music Festival and Party Against the Bombies.
Before Fame
She began singing at the age of 3 and released her debut album, "Dream," in 2003. In 2006, she released her 2nd album, "Forget It," and made her professional acting debut in Plengruk Rim Fung Kong (Love Song Along the Mekong River). She earned a PhD in Media Design from Keio University in Tokyo, Japan.
Trivia
In the year 2013, she was designated the National Goodwill Ambassador for Lao PDR by the United Nations Development Program, making her the first ever to fill this role. She also organized a foundation to aid the families of children with Down syndrome.
Family Life
She is the daughter of Bounthavisay Bounxouei, who was a music teacher, and Jordana Bounxouei, who was a pianist. She was also the granddaughter of a famous Laotian songwriter.
