Composer, pianist, organist, and bandleader who has been commissioned to perform by the BBC at venues such as the Pierre Boulez Saal, and at festivals including London and Berlin Jazz Festivals. He is known for the Alexander Hawkins Ensemble; the Convergence Quartet, and the Hammond organ-based Decoy.
Before Fame
He first played classical music on the organ. He attended Radley College in Oxfordshire, England. He studied law and criminology at University of Cambridge.
Trivia
In the year 2012, he was selected to be part of the London Symphony Orchestra's Soundhub programme. In the year 2018, he was elected a fellow of the Civitella Ranieri. He was named "Instrumentalist of the Year" in the 2016 Parliamentary Jazz Awards.

His father was a pianist and also played clarinet.
