Singer, songwriter, and composer internationally celebrated for his titles within the progressive rock, experimental, jazz, and dance genres. He has released several publicly and critically acclaimed albums, including the Figli Delle Stelle, L.A.N.Y., which reached the top of Italian, German, Swiss, and Scandinavian music charts, and Di Notte, which featured pianist David Foster. He also represented his home country of Italy in the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Non So Che Darei," which went on to become one of the bestselling tracks throughout all of Continental Europe and Scandinavia. 

Before Fame

He made his debut in 1972, with the highly acclaimed album Aria, which was inspired by jazz singer Tim Buckley and featured the collaboration of famous French violinist Jean Luc Ponty. He then went on to release his second album, Come un Vecchio Incensiere All'alba di un Villaggio Deserto in 1973. His third album was released in 1974. 

Trivia

His debut album, Aria, won the critics' award for best album of the year after its release in 1972. His 1979 track "Tu Sei L'Unica Donna Per Me" from his album L.A.N.Y. won the Festival Bar at the Verona Arena in 1979. 

Family Life

He was born to a Welsh mother and a Neapolitan father and spent a large portion of his youth in both Wales and Italy. His sister, Jenny Sorrenti, is also a musical artist and has released two albums with her band Saint Just in addition to solo albums.

He performed at the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest, along with co-competitors Ajda Pekkan of Turkey, Anna Vissi of Greece, and winner Johnny Logan of Ireland.
