He served as Monday Night Football commentator for over 5 years, covered soccer for the talkSPORT radio station, and presented during the World Cup. He has covered countless matches from the Premier League, and numerous matches from the UEFA Champions League, the Football League Championship, and the League Cup. 

Before Fame

He began his career at BBC Radio Merseyside. In 1973, he signed on with the BBC in London, where he began routinely covering soccer matches. Within just a few short years, he had begun to cover matches for the England national team and commentate for major soccer and athletics events such as the European Cup Final and the FA Cup Final. 

Trivia

He served as the commentator for the revival of the Sky 1 network's competition series "Gladiators" for its 9th and 10th seasons, from 2008 to 2009. He also worked for a brief time as director of the League One professional football club, the Wycombe Wanderers.
