In 1974, he made his voice acting debut as "Kenzoh Kabuto" in the series Mazinger Z vs. The Great General of Darkness.

He is the son of Chikao Ohtsuka. From 2005 to 2008, he was married to Yoko Soumi. He remarried in 2017.
