Before Fame
In 1981, he discovered hip hop music, and began traveling to New York City where he received the nickname "Chill Phil." In the same year, he met a DJ named Éric Mazel, with whom he began to collaborate to advance the cause of French hip hop.
Trivia
In 1995, he founded the record label Côté Obscur. The popular IAM album Yasuke was released under this record label. He posts song and music video clips to his akhenatoniam Instagram page. He has amassed over 120,000 followers on the platform.
