A New York-born author who decided to spend a year following every rule in the Bible, he wrote about his experience in the popular 2007 memoir, The Year of Living Biblically. His other works include The Know-It All (2005) and The Guinea Pig Diaries (2010).
Before Fame
A member of the "stunt journalism" school, he wrote about such immersion experiences as reading all 32 volumes of the Encyclopedia Britannica and outsourcing every aspect of his life to India.
Trivia
In his 2007 book about living according to the Bible, he followed more than 700 biblical rules and also interviewed people from different religions about the rules of their respective faiths.
Family Life
He grew up in New York City as the son of a Jewish attorney. He and his wife Julie have sons named Jasper and twins Zane and Lucas.
