Indie folk singer and musician best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and principal songwriter for the band Big Thief. The band rose to fame with the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, Masterpiece, in 2016. Alongside her work with the band, she has pursued a solo career. She received a Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album for her 2024 solo album Bright Future. She shares intimate live performances and behind-the-scenes studio sessions with her audience of over 410,000 followers on her adrianne.lenker TikTok page. 

Before Fame

She was raised in a Christian cult until she was four years old. After leaving the cult, her family lived out of a blue van for some time. She never received traditional schooling as a child.

Trivia

When she was 14, she released her first solo album, Stages of the Sun. Her second solo album, Hours Were the Birds, came out in 2014. She survived a near-fatal accident at age 5 when a railroad spike fell into her skull, an event she later recounted in Big Thief's song "Mythological Beauty."

Family Life

She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was married to Buck Meek, who co-founded the band with her, but they divorced in 2018. She has been in relationships with Indigo Sparkle and Staci Foster.
