World champion professional wrestler, with the earned nickname "Hangman" after he hanged Chris Sabin with the move, the hangman noose. He has competed and won multiple championships since beginning his career in 2008. He is best known for his work with New Japan Pro Wrestling and for being a member of the Bullet Club with Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson.
Before Fame
He was born in Halifax County, Virginia. His birth name is Stephen Blake Woltz. In 2009 he graduated from Halifax County High School. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications from Virginia Tech University. He was a full-time journalism and graphic design high school teacher, during the time he began wrestling and did so for 5 years. In 2016 he began wrestling full-time.
Trivia
In 2022 he was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with a concussion after he landed face-first on the mat during a match against Jon Moxley. In 2018 he signed with All Elite Wrestling, debuted in 2019, and won the 21-Man Battle Royale.

He married Amanda Woltz in 2016 and together they welcomed their first son, born on October 6, 2021, with the initials M.C.M.
