Before Fame
He was an all-around athlete at Mineola High School in Mineola, Texas. He earned first team all-district honors as a quarterback and was named team MVP of his basketball team his senior year.
Trivia
He had two successful seasons at Northeast Texas Community College, where he earned first team all-Texas Eastern Athletic Conference honors and was named Collegiate Baseball magazine national player of the week. The Los Angeles Dodgers subsequently drafted him in the 28th round in the summer of 2005.
Family Life
In 2021, Moore returned to his East Texas hometown of Mineola to open a baseball and softball academy and indoor training facility. He founded the project with fellow Mineola graduate and ex-college softball player Ali Galaz.
Associated With
In his MLB debut with the Seattle Mariners, the first person he saw when he entered the stadium was fellow Mariner Ken Griffey Jr. He also played for legendary manager Terry Francona while with the Cleveland Indians, now called the Cleveland Guardians, and with Kansas City Royals first baseman Billy Butler.
