About

Pageant queen, philanthropist, actress, and musical artist beloved for having won prestigious titles in the pageant world including Miss Earth Ghana in 2019 and Miss Grand USA in 2020. That same year, she was also crowned Miss Grand International, making her the first Black woman and the first woman from the U.S. to earn the title. She was a finalist on The X Factor Africa and has served as a brand ambassador for Garnier haircare. She is also a singer and multi-instrumentalist who has released several singles, including "Akomah" and "No More Hate."

Before Fame

She began modeling at the age of 3 and discovered her talent for music when she was only 9 years old. She attended high school in the United States before studying fashion at Radford University in her home country of Ghana. She began her modeling career after having won Miss Talent Ghana in 2012 and Top Model Ghana in the year 2013. 

Trivia

In 2022, she was named Model of the Year at the Women's Choice Awards Africa. She has appeared in fashion shows like New York and Contour Fashion Weeks, as well as shows for Da Viva and Vilisco. In 2016, she was crowned the winner of Queen Beauty Universe in Malaga, Spain. The victory made her the first-ever Ghanaian to win the international pageant in history. 

Family Life

She shared an emotional and heartfelt tribute to her mother on her abenaakuaba Instagram account in September 2021. She has a sister, who joined her in the United States in preparation for the Miss Universe pageant in 2015.

She has appeared in music videos for songs by artists like Bruno Mars, Gucci Mane, and Kodak Black. In September of 2021, as the winner of Miss Grand International, she had the opportunity to dine with the former president of Ghana, John Kufuor.
