He has won over 10 music awards, including for Hip Hop Awards Artist of the Year in 2009, and the MTV Africa Music Awards Best Hip Hop Artist in 2008.

His full name is Alexander Abolore Adegbola Akande. He was born into a polygamous family which had five wives, one husband, and eight other children besides himself.
