About
Animated fictionalized biography of aviation engineer Jiro Horikoshi. The film follows a young Jiro from his time at Tokyo Imperial University through the design of the prototype of his Mitsubishi A5M aircraft. The movie was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
Trivia
The film is loosely based on Tatsuo Hori's 1937 novel The Wind Has Risen. It went on to be nominated for both the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
