After a violent run-in with a psychopathic serial killer, a news reporter retreats to a rural mountain town. Unfortunately the residents of the town are not at all what they seem. The film was directed by Joe Dante.

The film is based on Gary Brandner's novel of the same name. Filming took place at the Mendocino Woodlands Camp in California.
