Friends Sewashi and Doraemon travel back in time to meet Nobita. They make it their priority to care for Nobita in order to help him return to the present. The film was directed by Ryūichi Yagi and Takashi Yamazaki.

The movie is based upon the Doraemon manga series. At the Japanese box office the film held the number one spot for five consecutive weeks.
